LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

Emerald Bay is perfectly positioned adjoining the waterfront and centrally located between Suva and the expanding second International Airport, approx 12km from the development and a short drive back to the city

The site is favourably located allowing the opportunity to offer travellers, visitors, tourists easy and quick access to the airports and the capital Suva

The Location of the Subject Site opens a whole series of opportunities. Opportunities that are present due to being in close proximity to local attractions and main centres and resources.

The development at Emerald Bay will tap into these resources, some waiting to be discovered whilst others are or may still be in operation and will thereby benefit from the added interest.

Furthermore, many on site-recreation activities are also planned.

LOCATION 1

Suva the Capital City of Fiji

Suva is the capital of Fiji - the capital and a business hub. Upon mentioning Fiji, two names comes up, Nadi and Suva.

Suva is a coastal city located along the peninsula, presenting itself as a unique Fijian city. One can venture into the inner street network and still maintain the experience of the coast and sea breezes, or stroll down the sea wall and the Suva wharf. Suva wharf is one of the two only berthing wharves for tourist ships visiting Fiji. Suva offers many attractions, from colonial architecture to the government buildings, large handicraft centre and the museum. It offers a wide variety of shopping, restaurants, trendy bars, a large outdoor markets experience. It offers all that the other cities and towns offer, and more. Suva and the surrounding regions offer a variety of experiences such as modern, religious, traditional, urban, rural, and affluent, and the natural, inhabited and undiscovered areas.

Laucala Bay Scenic Drive, Sail boating and Picnic’s

Laucala (pronounced Lauthala) Bay to the south-east, while protected by a barrier reef is open to the trade winds that blow almost year round. This presents ideal conditions for sailing such as the hobby competitions

Sand Bar – an Offshore Mini Sand Island

A sand bar in the middle of nowhere, however a short boat ride from Emerald Bay. Sand banks allow opportunities for out of the world dining experience where you are dinning in the middle of the sea surrounded by nothing else but the sand and sea surrounding it. A wide variety of dining experience can be created here, from couple’s romantic dining to weddings, to large dinners. The location also presents itself for other activities such as a good spot for swimming, boating and exploring.

Fiji’s Barrier Reef Formation

The barrier reef is a natural formation that surrounds most of Fiji and offers good protection from the open sea and large waves. Here it presents an opportunity for exploration, snorkelling, under sea diving etc.,.

Nukulau Island

Nukulau Island is a recreational island for the general public. The island is generally left natural for exploration. There is a jetty and ample shelters otherwise. One can meander through the natural tracks into the island or stroll along the beaches and take a dip wherever one desires.

Nailili Cathedral – Historic Church

Naililili Cathedral is an historic site presents a great opportunity to visit via the waterway. Explore this amazing historical colonial church as you venture up or down the river in your packaged tours.

Rewa River

The Rewa River is a large river system that meanders along the natural country side and wild bushland going past some scenic spots such as the Naililili historical sites, also the Nausori airport, Nausori Township and continues up river towards the hinterland where access to remote areas and villages, amazing waterfalls and mountain terrain can be explored.

Jungle River Systems

River network passing along the site shall offer additional means for touring and also opens up any design and planning development opportunities to be incorporated within the Emerald Bay Design.

Remote Village Tours in the Highlands

Remote villages that can be visited in the river cruise tours. Opportunities can be created for kava ceremonies, traditional cultural dances and feast, handicraft opportunities, and a walk through the village grounds to experience the way of life going back to the earlier explorer days.

Colo-I-Suva – Nature Reserve

Colo-i-suva is a natural forest and native fauna and flora reserve with amazing waterways and water falls, including bush walking and walking pathways and platforms.

FERRY SERVICE & RIVER CRUISES & OUTER ISLAND TOURS

A ferry service shall be provided for ariport transfers from Emerald Bay to Nausori airport and to the capital city of Suva. This shall reduce the traveling time between these destinations considerably and at the same time offer a sceneic route.

River cruises shall provide a package tour that shall include stop overs at the main centres, selected spots for swimming, sight seeing, bush walking & trackking, remote villages tours for traditional lunches and kava ceremonies including cultural items.

Other activities that can be developed and made available are jet boating, jungle swing/tree surfing/flying fox.

TENNIS COURTS AND INDOOR SPORTS

High level professional tennis courts shall be made available within the Emerald bay development, with state of the art facilties to cater for day and night time events and private social games.

SHOPPING CENTRE

A shopping centre shall be provided within the Emerald bay development.

The shopping Centre shall offer a combination of world class shopping experience catered for tourist market as well as the locals.

The centre shall include a variety of upmarket restaurants offering cuisines from all over the world. As well as a food court to cater for the day to day weary shoppers and for people looking for a quick bite. As well as the ancillary offices and administration there will be such services as professional and medical facilities available.

GOLF

Golfing and associated activities shall be provided.

SHUTTLE SERVICE TO DOWNTOWN SUVA

A shuttle service shall be provided also for transportation back and forth from and to Emerald Bay. The vehicles shall be of good standard, recent make, air conditioned operated in a professional manner.

OTHER RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
